As of 1 May 2026, the Dutch Tax Authorities and the Benefits Department will change their main bank from ING to Rabobank. This means that the bank account numbers used by the Dutch Tax Authorities will change. From that date, payments to the Dutch Tax Authorities should in principle be made to the new Rabobank account numbers.
As of 1 May 2026, the Dutch Tax Authorities will move from ING to Rabobank. From that date, the following new bank account numbers will apply for business taxes:

For business taxes, you can also verify the current payment details via the official Dutch Tax Authorities page:
https://www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/connect/nl/betalenenontvangen/content/betaalgegevens-zakelijke-belastingen
In case of doubt, we advise you to always consult this official page or the payment information included with the relevant tax assessment, tax return or payment request before making a payment.
Please note: do not use the new Rabobank account numbers before 1 May 2026, unless the Dutch Tax Authorities explicitly state this in the payment details of the relevant tax assessment, tax return or payment request. Until 1 May 2026, the current ING account numbers generally remain applicable.
Direct debit
If you pay a provisional tax assessment or motor vehicle tax by direct debit, no action is required after the Dutch Tax Authoritiesâ change from ING to Rabobank on 1 May 2026. The Dutch Tax Authorities will automatically adjust the direct debit to their new bank account number.
Standing order
If you pay by a standing order that you have set up yourself, you will need to amend the bank account number yourself once you receive payment information showing the new Rabobank account number. This will not be earlier than 1 May 2026.
Check your administration and payment processes
We advise you to check before 1 May 2026 where the current Dutch Tax Authoritiesâ bank account numbers are stored within your organisation, for example in
- your financial administration;
- your online banking environment;
- existing payment templates;
- standing orders;
- SEPA or batch payment files;
- internal payment instructions.
Beware of phishing
Finally, please be alert to phishing attempts. The Dutch Tax Authorities will never ask you to provide or change payment details by email, text message, WhatsApp or telephone. In case of doubt, always verify the bank account number yourself via the official website of the Dutch Tax Authorities or your secure tax environment.
Payment arrangement
If you have a payment arrangement with the Dutch Tax Authorities, whether you need to take any action after the change on 1 May 2026 depends on how you pay the agreed instalments.
If you pay by a standing order that you have set up yourself, you must amend the bank account number once you receive payment information showing the new Rabobank account number. This will not be earlier than 1 May 2026.
If you pay each instalment separately via online banking or by using a paper bank transfer form, you should use the bank account number stated in the payment information you receive for the relevant tax assessment or payment request. Once you receive payment information showing the new Rabobank account number, you should use that new account number. This will not be earlier than 1 May 2026.
Payment reference
For each payment, it remains important to include the correct payment reference. Without the correct payment reference, processing of the payment may be delayed.
Payments from abroad
If you make payments from abroad, the new Rabobank BIC code may be required as of 1 May 2026:
BIC: RABONL2U
If your bank requires an 11-character BIC code, you can use:
BIC: RABONL2UXXX
