Arrange now your Dutch residence permit for after Brexit
UK nationals and/or their family members living or planning to start living in the Netherlands must apply for a Dutch residence permit prior to January 1, 2021.
Since August 2020, the IND no longer sends invitation letters to apply and/or collect a Dutch permit.
Therefore, to apply for a residence permit, you must:
• be registered in the Dutch population register (BRP)
• have a DigiD
• receive the post digitally via MijnOverheid, and
• have a Dutch bank account.
A Dutch residence permit must be applied for -online- before 31 December 2020. If a residence permit is applied for after this date, stricter conditions have to be taken into account. Therefore, we advise all employees who are planning to come and live in the Netherlands to move here before 31 December 2020.
Before said date UK nationals can continue to live, work and study in the Netherlands without a residence permit.
